Reception and assistants were excellent. Identification of my issue and explanation of the proposed treatment were excellent. However, I will not be going back. I had an uncomfortable experience with this doctor. The first thing he said to me was "Do you know why you're here?". I can write that off as unintended patronization - maybe he usually deals with children, or maybe he talks that way with everyone and doesn't realize how it sounds. During my exam, I must have jumped because he put his hand *on my chest* - as if to comfort me, I suppose, and to apologize for any pain (there wasn't any and I actually don't recall jumping, but OK). This was SO strange and I cannot *imagine* why an adult man would think it's acceptable to put his hands on a woman's chest who's not your significant other. It wasn't my breasts, but right above, but that is WAY too intimate an area for a stranger to touch me. Had it been my shoulder or hand, OK, fine. I am not offended my touch in general - I take dance/fitness classes where the teacher places a hand on my hip, buttock, even inner thigh, but that is expected and a clear communication that people can opt out of being touched. My normal dentist has never touched any other part of my body other than my mouth and jaw. I see the glowing 5-star reviews here and I don't claim those to be incorrect about the work this doctor does. But this did not sit well with me and I can't go back and be on edge like that again. I think I have switched doctors maybe 2-3 times in my whole life - so this is not typical behavior on my end. I'm not making any claims about what this interaction was, I'm just saying I did not like it and will be finding another periodontist with whom I feel comfortable.

If you need a periodontist, Dr. Fateh is exceptional to work with. Highly knowledgeable and takes the time to explain and educate you on your situation and options, and pros and cons. Helps with making the decision that's right for you, even if it's work that wouldn't be done by his office.
